Maastricht and Kanne
Maastricht is a beautiful cozy city, very Burgundian and you can taste the French atmosphere, for us Limburgers Maastricht is a great opportunity to take a trip near our home, pick a terrace or take a brisk walk.
Personally I love the old architecture and the countryside around it, I like hiking at the St Pieter and go in the direction of Kanne where I find myself in beautiful nature and landscape. you walk along the Jeker, water mills vineyards old farms, a ford, and you come in chateau Neercanne, with his amazing winecellar in the cave. Check out the history about this amazing castle. The town of Kanne is very worthwhile. When the weather is nice, you feel like you are in a holiday destination like France. but it is our Limburg.
See here pictures from Hoeve Nekum. Hoeve Nekum is mentioned for the first time in archives dating back to 1304..
