Zeeland
We come for years in Zeeland, the last time settled in Renesse, and in the off-season.;) There we visit annually our regular favorite cafes and restaurants. Similarly cafe restaurant pension ZEERUST in Renesse, this used to be a lighthouse keeper cottage, present it is a pub/pension/restaurant. Unfortunately the lighthouse is blown up by GENIE (Force) on 25th july 1916 (my grannies 4th birthday)
This painting I painted from a small pen drawing, so I have to use a lot of imagination to bring on the painting the image of start 20th century. The property looks very different now as well. If you ask me, I prefer the building from 1845. The exterior now, is not really my thing but inside it is cozy, nostalgic and warm. Now you'll even find more pictures of how the lighthouse has looked like. Far from how you find him now captured on paintings, it was not the most beautiful lighthouse but he is still special, I think purely out because he's no longer there. Too bad but unfortunately.
The peace you find there Just that is why we love it there that much.

We had a lot of fun times spent there,seen beautiful full moons , wonderful beach walks , spending evenings on the beach are just MAGIC, many fun moments ended up there in the former lighthouse keepers cottage with a nice schouwse jutter bitter . I even found a very special black cat at the steps leading to the beach , and by now the mystery surrounding the black cat has solved haha.
